Frequently Asked Questions:

BSY is on the second floor of The North Country Food Co-op at 25 Bridge St. Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

The studio entrance is inside of the Co-op. Once inside the Co-op head to the back of the cooler section and up the stairs. You can always ask any of the Co-op staff, they are always happy to help! We also have a video of how to get to the studio here.

Our weekly classes are drop-in and you can pre-register or not. You can expect the doors to be open 15 minutes before the start of the class. And you are free to arrive any time before the start of class. Though, if it is your first class at BSY you might want to arrive at least 10 minutes early so you have time to fill out the waiver and get settled in.

Pre-registration is required for events and workshops. You can register right here on our website!

Our open studio classes are pay what you can. Most folks pay anywhere from 20-5 dollars but you are never expected to pay anything. We never want cost to be a barrier to yoga. Please pay an amount that is sustainable for you.

Special events or workshops might have tiered pricing but we work hard to make every class as affordable as possible.

Private 60min classes have a sliding scale ($75 full price, $60, or $45). Message us for more information on private classes.

All you need to bring is you! Wear something that is comfortable and you can move freely in. If you have a mat or any props you use in your practice feel free to bring them. We also have mats and plenty of props including blankets, blocks, straps, and bolsters of many sizes that you can use. Feel free to bring something to drink or anything you need to support you.

When you come to a class at BSY you can kick off your shoes and set up your mat facing the front of the room and grab any props you want to use during the practice. If it is your first time at the studio, the instructor will ask you to fill out a waiver. Classes are pay what you can and we accept cash, checks or cards via Venmo or in our website. You can pay at the beginning or end of the class.

No matter the class or instructor, you are free to opt out of any posture or practice. You are free to take breaks, stop for water, grab more props, go to the restroom, or leave the space at any time. You are in charge of your body!

Classes often start with a short mindfulness practice and pranayama (breath work). Then the instructor guides an asana (movement and yoga pose) practice that incorporates the breath and mindfulness.

Some classes offer hands on assists and adjustments from the instructor. We have consent chips for people to opt in or out of hands on assists. An instructor will not touch you without your consent.

Class ends with several minutes of śavāsana, a pose of mindful rest.

Most BSY classes don’t include music but some do. Most classes end with the sound of a singing bowl played by the instructor.

We are always looking to expand our offerings and if you are interested in teaching at BSY we would love to talk to you! All our teachers are required to be certified through Yoga Alliance and have professional liability insurance. Please send an email or message us on social media or come to a class sometime and talk to Gray in person.

Slow Flow, Intermediate Flow

RYT 200

Rusty is a native son to our sleepy hamlet of Plattsburgh, and an eternal student of yoga. Rusty believes yoga has something to teach everyone—from getting out of our head, to feeling at home in our own skin. He offers classes that focus on the beauty and grace of simple movement, practicing yoga asana as meditation in motion, where all souls are welcome and all expression is valid.
